Process Questions
Do I own my artwork?
Yes. 100%. Once you complete a project with Pinpoint we will save your projects “indefinitely” and you will always have access to them. If you would like us to send you the native files at the conclusion of any project, we will be happy to do so upon request. They are yours to have.
How many rounds of edits do I get?
When we quote a project for you, it includes a first round draft, one round of moderate edits, and a final round to clean up any straggler details. If edits go beyond a third round, we bill a flat rate of $85/hr.
Will you give me geographic exclusivity?
Because we approach each client’s brand so uniquely, we typically don’t provide city-wide exclusivity. However, we do handle this question/concern on a case-by-case basis and will always consider any request for a reasonable, non-competitive footprint.
Do you work on retainer or on a project-by-project basis?
We do both. Retainership relationships provide the best value, and also allow our staff to become intimately familiar with all aspects of your brand, but we have supported clients who’ve been with us for 15+ years on a project-by-project basis. Please inquire about pricing.
Will you sign a non-compete?
Yes. Let us have a look. Most likely we will have no problem with it.
Will you share my projects publicly?
We do share examples of our work on social media pages, blogs, and in presentations. However, we never share work before it’s been launched in the public domain. Your projects are always under-wraps until they have been unveiled to the world. If you have a special circumstance where you would not want a project shared after it’s been launched, please advise us prior to project budgeting and commencement.
Service Questions
Do you do websites?
Pinpoint is not a web development company and we don’t develop websites. However, we can partner with your website company to write branded content and to assist in your site’s visual look and feel, and we do this often. We’ve partnered with many of the website companies you’re familiar with (Incredible, Crystal Clear Media, MetaMed, Strategic Edge Partners, NKP, Ceatus, and Doctor Logic to name a few). We’ve been enlisted to work on special assignments included landing page design for our loyalty programs, skinning and writing home pages, designing high profile banners and buttons, and providing photographic art direction site wide. We’re collaborative, “play nice,” and have created great work in partnership. Inquire for examples.
Are you only a design firm?
No. We are a full service agency and actually prefer to be included in the early stages of a project. Tap our skills to help you strategize your marketing challenges. We have the talent and experience to take your project from strategy, to creative concept, to writing, design, production, project management, and straight through to delivery.
Do you manage printing?
Yes! We have strategic relationships with local and national vendors and can manage all your print projects, should you want us to. We have a 30-year background in printing and our vendor relationships are solid and vetted. 90% of our clients defer their print management to us.
Will you travel to meet with us in person?
Yes. We work with businesses all across the United States and have been in many of their offices–especially when embarking on a large branding project or major campaign initiative–and to art direct photo shoots. Inquire about day rates and travel fees.
Do you work with businesses outside healthcare and non-profits?
YES. Although we have carved a special niche in the healthcare sector, over our 30 years in business, we’ve worked with just about every type of business out there (including wineries, boat builders, aerospace manufacturers, high tech & software companies, retailers, hotels, offshore drilling conglomerates, the country of Turkmenistan (yes!), food and beverage companies, multi-level marketing firms, and many more. We love and understand BRANDING and have insatiable curiosity. We enjoy the challenge of working in other industries.
Pricing Questions
What is your hourly fee?
Our hourly fees are billed on a sliding scale depending on the skill sets we’re using to complete your project. For example, “production design” bills at a rate of $75/hr., “proof reading” at $50/hr., and “senior level creative direction” at $150/hr. When we give you a budget for a project, you will receive a single figure that incorporates all the tasks included to complete the work. Clients appreciate not paying a flat fee for work that is less specialized. In addtition, with our years of experience–we’re faster than the average bear!
Do you charge rush fees?
It depends on the project and our workflow. Typically we don’t, unless your deadline is such that we need to work long evenings or entire weekends to make it happen. If this is the case, we let you know the amount up front, prior to beginning.
What are your payment terms?
For first time clients, we require a 50% credit card deposit to begin work. Once you have an established credit history, we can set you up to pay by credit card or check. We have 15-day net terms for check pay clients. Credit card clients pay when project is complete, upon invoicing. For larger projects (above $1,000) a 50% deposit will be due at project inception, with the balance due upon completion. All promotional product orders are due at the time of invoicing and must be paid via credit card.
Do I have to sign a long term contract to engage with your agency?
No. We work on one-off projects as well as monthly agreements. If you aren’t comfortable with a contract, we don’t require it.
